Welcome to Sochi - the resort capital of Russia! I welcome you to the International Tourism Forum SIFT! I suggest you take advantage of southern hospitality and combine effective work with a vibrant vacation.

We see how deep changes are taking place in the tourism industry before our eyes: the needs, behavior and aspirations of travelers are being transformed. In response to these changes, new tourism products, travel technologies and services are appearing. I see at least five important trends that will determine the future of our industry in the coming years.

Unexpected routes. In popular tourist destinations, there are too many tourists. Therefore, there is a growing demand for quiet corners where you can relax from the hustle, arrange digital detox, slow down the rhythm of life for a while.

Health care. When traveling, people tend to maintain or even improve their physical fitness. They are ready for active and even extreme relaxation. And it's not just about young tourists.

Digital assistants. Travelers are increasingly resorting to digital services when making key decisions. Technology helps save time and enjoy every minute of the journey.

In the center of events. More and more often, travelers choose the direction where a bright event awaits them: a festival, a concert of their favorite group, competitions or even a business forum.

The taste of the place. When choosing a route, more and more travelers put the desire to satisfy their gastronomic curiosity above all. Tourists are increasingly visiting cafes and restaurants with local dishes made with local products.

Today we are building a strategy for the development of resorts in the Krasnodar Territory based on these trends, we strive to meet the expectations of our guests. That is why today we pay great attention to the development of agricultural, gastronomic, event and active tourism, and encourage the creation of new digital tourism services.

At such sites as the International Tourism Forum SIFT, we actively discuss our strategic priorities, adjust goals and objectives, search for new ideas and projects, as well as investors who are ready to invest in the tourism sector. On behalf of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), the largest entrepreneurial association in the hospitality industry of our country, and the relevant committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, I am glad to welcome the participants, organizers and guests of the International Tourism Forum SIFT-2019!

Over the years, the forum has become one of the important annual events for the development of inbound and domestic tourism and the promotion of tourism opportunities in the Krasnodar Territory and the South of the country.

Now the resorts of the Black Sea coast accept Russian vacationers more than all foreign countries where our compatriots go for tourist purposes. Today, the resort city of Sochi, where the forum takes place annually, is the most modern and well-equipped multi-functional year-round resort in Russia. Here, all conditions are created for the further sustainable development of tourism, attracting investments, increasing the attractiveness of the tourist region for domestic and foreign tourists.

Sochi has also become a resort and business center of an international level, in which significant events for the Russian travel industry are traditionally held. This year, along with SIFT-2019, the fourth All-Russian Congress of tour operators and travel agents will be held, at which leading representatives and experts will discuss current issues and corporate tasks in changing political and socio-economic conditions, determine the basic principles of partnership, and interact with government bodies to increase regulatory effectiveness in tourism.

It is gratifying that the SIFT-2019 International Tourism Forum is a universal platform for sharing experiences, gaining new knowledge and discussing the principles of mutually beneficial business cooperation. I am sure that this event will again become an important step for solving key problems and tasks of the industry, consolidating the business community, and the interaction of business and government.
